About The Role

Reporting into our Head of Business Solutions, we are looking for a Development Manager with a good working knowledge of internal and client facing software development.

We have built an internal platform on JS Framework (utilising TypeScript, Angular, HMTL5, CSS3, node.JS, AWS) to manage and deliver our core certification process, and this platform is growing rapidly across our product suite. Tightly integrated with Salesforce, and with a Progressive Web App for data collection in the field, our software has given the team a leap forward in efficiency and provided the beginnings of a unique industry database that we plan to make available to our clients.

We now need to stabilise, grow and improve this platform as it starts to move from an internal workflow and process management system into a client facing portal and data syndication service.

Utilising a third party development resource, with plans to concurrently bring some development resource in house, this role will be key in driving our software development strategy as we grow aggressively across international markets.

This role will require travel into our London office at least once per fortnight.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for representing WiredScore’s technical requirements with our third party development partners.
  • Working alongside our Product team to validate and estimate requirements, and ensure these are properly documented ahead of development
  • With our development partners, ensure releases are timely and reliable, and verify technical and UAT requirements.
  • Previous experience building and managing a remote development team within a growing business
  • Improving UI performance, scalability, and reliability as we grow the user base of the platform.
  • Strong stakeholder management with colleagues from all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to manage and run training and requirements gathering workshops, and summarise key findings with great written and verbal communication.
  • An ability to speak passionately about their work and communicate it with an authority.

Key skills / attributes:

  • 3-5 years experience leading development and management of software platforms
  • Great communication and stakeholder management
  • Strong experience in JavaScript (Typescript preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3
  • Previously experience building JS applications
  • Background in JS frontend frameworks (Angular preferred) and node.js server side.
  • Good working knowledge with Chrome DevTools

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Experience with websockets
  • Working experience with stylesheet preprocessors (e.g., SASS, LESS)
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration systems (e.g., TeamCity, Jenkins)
  • Experience using Linux for development
  • Understanding of CRM infrastructure and systems, ideally in a Salesforce environment.
  • Has worked with agencies or freelancers to brief complex projects.
  • Worked across a global organization.
